Centrica Joins LNG Trend in Trinidad and Tobago

London. Centrica, through its subsidiary Centrica Resources (Armada) Limited (CRAL), has signed an agreement with Suncor Energy, under which Centrica will acquire Suncor's Trinidad and Tobago portfolio of gas assets for US $380 million (£246 million) in cash. This acquisition provides Centrica with its first producing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) position and significant development opportunities for future, long-term LNG supplies.

Norwood Resources had indication of oil in Nicaragua

Managua. Norwood Resources Ltd. announces that on February 15, 2010, the Company completed testing on the San Bartolo-1X2 sidetrack well. The well reached total depth of 6428ft on January 31, 2010.

US soldiers struggle to help Haiti rebuild

Cuba's oil, gas output unchanged in 2009

Cuba - Cuba produced some four million tons of oil equivalent in 2009, roughly the same amount as the previous year, and is now setting its sights on exploring new deposits with the aim of replacing output from fields that have slid into decline, the official media reported.

BP sets date with Serrette

London. UK supermajor BP said it plans to pump the first natural gas from the Serrette field in Trinidad & Tobago in 2011. The first phase of the project in the Northern Area of the Columbus basin about 32 miles (51 kilometers) north of the Mango field will capture as much as 700 million cubic feet of equivalent with five wells, BP said on its Web site.
