Chevron-led Tengizchevroil Denies Illegal Oil Production

Almaty. Kazakhstan. Chevron Corp. (CVX)-led Tengizchevroil, Kazakhstan's largest oil producer, Friday disputed Kazakh authorities' claim that it had illegally produced oil.
"Tengizchevroil is in full compliance with its contractual agreements with the Republic of Kazakhstan," the consortium said in a statement. "TCO holds and retains the right to produce without maximum depth limit."

Chevron cleans up Bacolod oil spill

Manila. AMERICAN OIL giant Chevron on Friday said it had contained an oil spill at its old Bacolod terminal, blaming pilferers for the accident.

Chevron Philippines, Inc. said it had permanently plugged a fuel pipeline that was the source of the leak, with permission from the Philippine Coast Guard. The oil firm cleaned up some 100 liters of bunker fuel within an 80-square-meter area.

Oil Sheen Prompts Platform Shutdown Off Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia's state-owned oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) shut down oil platforms and production pipelines offshore eastern peninsular Malaysia after a thin layer of oil was sighted in nearby waters.

Taqa to invest in Qatar gas, Iraq oil sector

Riyadh. Saudi industrialization and energy services company Taqa is considering investing $ 1.6 billion in pipelines and $ 133 million in offshore platforms in Qatar and Iraq.

Officials from Taqa was quoted in a published report Friday saying that the company was considering investing in the gas industry in Qatar and the oil industry in Iraq by building platforms and pipelines for companies already working in the two countries. Taqa has invested SR500 million in offshore oil and gas platforms in Saudi Arabia.

Japan, Russia agree to build gas plant

Tokyo. Japan and Russia have agreed to jointly build a liquefied natural gas plant in Vladivostok, with five million tonnes of output to be shipped to Japan annually, a newspaper said Saturday.

Japan's Osaka Gas agrees to buy LNG from Shell

Tokyo. Osaka Gas (9532.T), Japan's second-largest gas company, said on Wednesday it has agreed to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Singapore-based Shell Eastern Trading, a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L).

Japan offers to sell Khafji crude from govt stocks

Tokyo. Japan has offered to sell 90,000 kilolitres, or about 566,000 barrels, of Khafji crude from the shared Neutral Zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait from government stocks in southern Japan, a tender document from the trade ministry showed on Friday.

Gazprom awards USD190 million subsea contract to FMC Technologies

Moscow. FMC Technologies to supply subsea systems for Shell's Perdido project-Spotlight. FMC Technologies, Inc. has signed an agreement with Gazprom Dobycha Shelf LLC for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment to support the Kirinskoye field. The award has a value of approximately $190 million in revenue to FMC Technologies.

Kirinskoye is a subsea-to-beach gas and condensate field off Russia's Pacific coast. It is located in water depths of approximately 300 feet (90 meters) within the Kirinsky Block of the Sakhalin III project, 17 miles (28 km) offshore Sakhalin Island.
