BP, CNPC signs deal to hike Rumaila output

IRAQ - BP PLC and China National Petroleum Corp. have signed the technical service contract with the Iraqi government that will enable them to nearly triple oil production in supergiant Rumaila field to 2.85 million b/d. The contract is with Iraq’s South Oil Co. BP and CNPC bid for the work in a June auction of agreements covering eight Iraqi fields.

GSPL to lay new gas pipeline in India

INDIA - Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (GSPL), a subsidiary of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC), is planning to construct a 1,600 kilometers long natural gas pipeline from Surat (Gujarat) to Paradip (Orissa) at an investment of INR60 billion, Projects Today reported. GSPL has submitted Expression of Interest (EOI) to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) proposing to lay, build, operate and expand the natural gas pipeline.

ADNOC announces GSP for October

UAE - The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced today the prices of its crude oil for October.

China rushes to clean up oil spill on Yangtze

CHINA - Authorities in China rushed to clean up an oil spill at the mouth of the Yangtze River after an Iranian-registered ship ran aground in bad weather, state media said Monday. The freighter 'Zoorik' was stranded Sunday at Luhuashan in eastern Zhejiang province and the 37 people on board -- including a two-year-old boy -- were airlifted to safety, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

Eni closes in on Iraq Zubair oilfield deal

IRAQ - Iraq's Oil Ministry signed an initial agreement today with a consortium led by Italian oil major Eni to develop the 4-billion-barrel Zubair oilfield. Eni has said it and its partners Occidental Petroleum Corporation and South Korea's Kogas expected to invest $10 billion in the field as they ramp up production to 1.125 million barrels per day from 195,000 bpd within seven years.

Kirkuk oil pipeline back on line

IRAQ - The Kirkuk pipeline that takes Kirkuk crude oil from Iraq to the Turkish port of Ceyhan resumed pumping earlier today, ending a one-week halt, a shipping source said. The pipeline normally carries about a quarter of Iraq's oil exports, or around 500,000 barrels per day.

Saudi Aramco ups December light crude prices to US

SAUDI ARABIA - Top oil exporter Saudi Aramco said it has raised the official selling price for its benchmark Saudi Light crude oil to U.S. clients in December by 85 cents a barrel to a discount of $3.75 below U.S. light crude WTI, its state oil company said on Sunday.

Pertamina aims for 8% rise in crude output

INDONESIA - Indonesia’s Pertamina aims to increase oil production by up to 8% next year. So far, average daily production stood at 181,000 barrels per day this year, higher than the target of 171,250 bpd, the Jakarta Post reported citing Pertamina’s president director Karen Agustiawan.

Oman’s oil production set to rise in 2010

OMAN - Oman’s oil output is set to increase significantly during 2010 on the back of the hydrocarbon sector’s continuing healthy performance, according to Oil and Gas Minister Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy. Production is projected to increase to between 850,000 and 900,000 barrels/day (b/d), maintaining a year-on-year trend in output growth.
