Moscow. Officials in Iran have asked international companies to come on board for oil and gas projects, despite the new sanctions imposed on the Islamic republic. The developers of the giant South Pars gas fields in the Gulf have said they want international companies from the East and West to express interest in being part of the project.

Capital concern is being touted as the major reason behind the decision of ConocoPhillips to pull out from the US$10bn Shah gas field in Abu Dhabi last April, according to Ryan Lance senior vice president, exploration and production, International of ConocoPhillips.
Siemens selected as main electrical contractor for natural gas liquids fractionation plant
Erlangen. Siemens Energy has been awarded a USD40 million project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to engineer and supply an integrated power solution for a natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation plant. The customer is a joint venture between Petrofac and GS E&C on behalf of Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (GASCO), responsible for the fractionation of natural and associated gas from onshore oil operations in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Siemens will be the main electrical contractor for GASCO's Ruwais 4th NGL train, located in the city of Ruwais, UAE. The train is scheduled to go into operation in March 2012.
Siemens to supply power plant components to Saudi Arabia
Erlangen. Siemens Energy has secured an order to supply gas turbine packages to Saudi Arabia. The components are to be installed in the Hail Extension II and Al Qurayat Expansion II power plants. Purchaser is the Alfanar Construction Company and Saudi Services for Electromechanic Works (SSEM) respectively. These two companies will perform the project on turnkey basis for the Saudi Electric Company (SEC) utility. Delivery of the components is scheduled for 2010 and 2011, with an order volume of approximately EUR100 million.
Iraq: Occidental and Pertamina considering stake in Sonangol's two Iraqi oil field developments
Baghdad. Occidental Petroleum and Indonesian state oil firm Pertamina have shown an interest in taking a stake in Sonangol's two Iraqi oil field development projects, a company official said Sunday.
'Our proposal will be for Sonangol to have a percentage of 45 percent ... in Najmah and Qayara,' Sonangol executive J. da Graca Luis told Reuters in Baghdad on the sidelines of a meeting between oil companies and the Oil Ministry. 'The rest will be for Occidental or Pertamina or whoever,' said Luis, who is the Angolan state oil firm's asset manager for Najmah and Qayara.
