Oslo. Foster Wheeler AG announced that its Global Engineering and Construction Group has entered into a Framework Agreement, awarded by Statoil, acting on behalf of Gassco AS as operator for the Gassled joint venture, for front-end engineering design (FEED) services valid through 2013 to support the development of the Karsto oil and gas processing plant in Norway.

Technip awarded umbilical contract in the UK North Sea
Roma. Technip says that its wholly-owned subsidiary Duco Ltd. has been awarded by BP Exploration Operating Company Ltd a contract, worth approximately €14 million, for the Andrew field development. This field is located 230 kilometers north east of Aberdeen, in the United Kingdom North Sea, at a water depth of 100-120 meters.
Total UK: Fined GBP3.6 Million For UK Buncefield Disaster
London. Total UK, the refining and marketing subsidiary of Total SA (TOT), Friday said it was fined GBP3.6 million for failing to prevent a huge fire its Buncefield oil storage depot in Dec. 2005.
The fire at the Buncefield depot--the largest in peacetime Europe, and situated in Hemel Hempstead, to the north of London--injured 43 people and caused major damage to nearby property.
Siemens to supply 68 wind turbines for Griffin onshore wind power plant in Scotland
Erlangen. Siemens Energy has received an order for the supply of 68 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.3 megawatts (MW) each. Purchaser is SSE Renewables (SSER). The Griffin wind power project is located approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Perth in the Scottish Highlands. The wind power plant will have a capacity of 156 MW upon its completion in 2012, and is expected to generate enough power to supply over 80,000 homes.
Siemens wins another order from transpower for connecting up offshore wind turbines
Erlangen. A further order for connecting offshore wind turbines to the power grid reinforces Siemens as the undisputable leading provider of offshore grid connection technology. Together with Prysmian, Siemens Energy is to connect a wind farm in the North Sea to the mainland power grid for the transmission system operator transpower, a subsidiary of the Dutch grid operator TenneT. Prysmian as a leading player in the industry of high-technology cables will provide the cable connection.
